Copyright Policy
CollabWav respects the rights of songwriters, producers, performers and other creators, and expects its members to do the same. Copyright infringement is not allowed on this site.
1. What this means for members
- Only post or link to music, lyrics, samples, artwork and other material that you created, or that you have clear permission or a licence to use.
- Don't post links to pirated, ripped or leaked copies of anyone's work.
- Don't use someone else's recording, sample or beat in a request unless you are licensed to. "Credit given" or "non-commercial" is not a licence.
- If you are collaborating, you need the other person's agreement before you release or register a shared work. A split sheet helps.
CollabWav does not host audio files. Members add links to audio hosted elsewhere, and we do not review each link in advance.
2. Reporting infringement (takedown notice)
If you believe material on CollabWav infringes your copyright, send a written notice to our designated agent containing:
- Your physical or electronic signature (or that of someone authorised to act for you).
- Identification of the copyrighted work you claim is infringed (or a representative list if several works are covered by one notice).
- Identification of the material you claim is infringing, with enough detail for us to find it, such as the URL of the request page.
- Your name, address, telephone number and email address.
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent or the law.
- A statement, made under penalty of perjury, that the information in the notice is accurate and that you are the owner or authorised to act for the owner of the right allegedly infringed.

Please do not make false claims. Under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f), a person who knowingly misrepresents that material is infringing may be liable for damages. If you are not sure, consider seeking legal advice first.
3. What we do
When we get a valid notice we will promptly remove or disable access to the material, and tell the member who posted it, including a copy of the notice. Notices and the member's identity may be passed on to the person who sent the notice.
4. Counter-notice
If you believe your material was removed by mistake or misidentification, send a written counter-notice to the agent above with:
- Your physical or electronic signature.
- Identification of the material removed and where it appeared before removal.
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that you have a good-faith belief it was removed by mistake or misidentification.
- Your name, address and telephone number, and a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal court for your address (or, if outside the United States, any judicial district where CollabWav may be found), and that you will accept service of process from the person who sent the original notice.
We will send your counter-notice to the original complainant. Unless they tell us within 10 business days that they have filed a court action, we may restore the material in not less than 10 and not more than 14 business days after we receive the counter-notice.
5. Repeat infringers
We will terminate, in appropriate circumstances, the accounts of members who repeatedly infringe copyright. We may also suspend an account while a claim is being looked into.
6. Other rights
If your concern is about trademark, privacy, impersonation or other content that is not copyright, email hello@collabwav.com.
